Simon Here.
At 88 I have started to build what I think is a Stu's sup possibly 9 .or 9.5 feet . Finished the 2 by 10 foot chipboard topped bench yesterday. Work bench cost $200 approx and is collapsible. I wondered about hiring it out later when I have made a couple of boards! I built it on a sturdy metal discarded laboratory bench 6ft Like a brick.
Looks good enought to surf on or as a take off strip out the garage door for one of my model planes.( I dont fly these now they look so nice). Same as I wont using the board but my kids and theirs kids are gathering around.
Opened the rib box . Laid the contents out on the bench and found everything more than as exspected though believe some gussets and rib glue line strips in wood package arriving next week week or so? The plywood looks great and if my previous experience is a guide the rig will fly.
The manual I have downloaded could do with an update in a few places but Adam is always there.
Interested in talking to other builders. Going North in a week catching snapper for a week so there will now be a gap before I start up again

PS Bought the fibreglass kit but may get this done professionally in a run. Simon. ... See MoreSee Less
